Jamie Jackson Running for Autauga County School Board, District 3

FROM JAMIE JACKSON

CANDIDATE FOR AUTAUGA COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 3

I am running for Autauga County Board of Education District 3. I have lived in Autauga County for most of my life. I started school in first grade at Prattville Primary and graduated from Prattville High School in 2000. I continued my education earning a BSBA in Accounting from Samford University in 2004 and MBA from Auburn University Montgomery in 2005.

I married Autauga County native Martin Jackson in 2005. He has been in education and administration for 18-plus years.  We have three children currently in Prattville schools.

Dorsett will be in 9th grade at Prattville High School, Sumner will be in the 7th grade at Prattville Junior High and Knowlton will be in 1st grade at Prattville Primary School.

I am a Certified Public Manager currently employed by the State of Alabama Comptroller’s Office as an Accounting Director. I am a 35-year member of First Baptist Church Prattville, a member of Prattville YMCA and serve on the board of Prattville Autauga Character Coalition.

My current job responsibilities give me the experience of working with a budget and staying within the confines of the money allotted to us.  I am aware of what it means to make tough decisions to get the best bang for the buck.  Being married to an educator and having three children in the system gives me great insight into what Autauga County needs to move forward making us a top school system in the state and that puts the students’ needs first in all decisions.

The things that inspired me most to run for this position were and continue to be:

Communication with all stakeholders.

Personal involvement within the schools.

Fiscal responsibility.

Organization and strategic planning.

School Safety.

Recruitment and Retention of Faculty and Staff.

With election day being tomorrow, I humbly ask for your vote for me Jamie Jackson for Autauga County Board of Education District 3.
