On March 26, 2021, Millbrook police received a complaint with regard to the theft of a debit card, which occurred at a business in the 3700 block of Highway 14. The victim advised that his debit card had been used to purchase electronics and receive cash from a local business following the theft. Two suspects, both from Prattville, have been arrested.

Detectives from the Millbrook Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Unit obtained surveillance video, which revealed a male and female at the time the debit card was taken, as well as using the card to obtain electronics and cash from another business. The video was published via Crime Stoppers, which generated information that would be useful to investigators during this investigation.

Detectives were able to identify both suspects, George Parker III, a 23-year-old Prattville resident and Sirlister L. Bass, a 44-year-old Prattville resident. Pursuant to the investigation warrants of arrest were obtained for both individuals.

On April 12, 2021, Parker and Bass were placed under arrest, each being charged with (2) counts of Theft of Property 3rd, (2) counts of Fraudulent Use of a Debit/Credit Card and Theft of Property 4th. Both offenders were processed and transported to the Elmore County Jail, under a $7,500.00 bond.

I want to commend the work done by our detectives in this case and express our appreciation to Crime Stoppers for their invaluable assistance. I don’t understand why people continue to commit crimes in this city, with the thought process that they’ll just cross the interstate or go into another city and they’ll avoid being apprehended and prosecuted for their crimes. That’s simply not the case.

We have partnered with organizations like Crime Stoppers, our businesses have outstanding surveillance equipment, excellent loss prevention personnel and our officers and detectives do an outstanding job in utilizing these partnerships and tools to identify and apprehend these criminal offenders. You commit the crime, don’t be surprised to see your face on television, social media and don’t be shocked when an officer or detective shows up at your door with a warrant in hand for your arrest. Actions have consequences.
