Wetumpka Assistant Police Chief Ed Reeves has confirmed the identity of a black female’s body found at the Elmore County Hospital this morning as KeAira Battle, a Wetumpka resident and former student from Wetumpka High School.
Ms. Battle died of apparent gunfire, but Reeves said there is nothing further to release at this time, other than what we have already reported.
Just after 5 a.m. today Wetumpka officers located the body after a call of an unresponsive person. Her body was found in the driveway at the entrance of the cafeteria. Her body was transported to the Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy.
