CASA of the River Region expands into Autauga and Chilton following leadership transition

From: Charity Alpert, Executive Director

CASA of the River Region

CASA of the River Region announced today that it is expanding its service area to include Autauga and Chilton Counties following the retirement of Pam Tindal, Executive Director of CASA of Autauga & Chilton Counties.

Since founding the program in 2018, Tindal has been a dedicated advocate for children in foster care, building a strong CASA program that has trained volunteer advocates, developed community partnerships, and provided a voice for children involved in the court and child welfare systems. Her leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on countless children and families throughout Autauga and Chilton Counties.

This transition ensures that children in Autauga and Chilton Counties will continue to receive advocacy and support through the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. CASA of the River Region will oversee volunteer advocacy services, case management support, and program operations in the two counties while maintaining a strong local presence and commitment to the communities served.

“We are incredibly grateful for Pam’s years of dedication and the program she built,” said Charity Alpert, Executive Director of CASA of the River Region. “Her work has changed the lives of many children, and we are honored to continue her legacy. This expansion allows us to strengthen regional collaboration while ensuring children in Autauga and Chilton Counties continue to have a voice in court and access to dedicated advocacy.”

CASA of the River Region will work closely with current volunteers, judges, attorneys, the Department of Human Resources, community stakeholders, and local partners throughout the transition process. The organization will also continue recruiting and training volunteers from Autauga and Chilton Counties to advocate for children locally and maintain strong community connections.

CASA volunteers are trained community advocates appointed by judges to represent the best interests of children involved in abuse and neglect cases. Through dedicated advocacy, CASA programs help ensure children have safe, permanent, and nurturing homes.

With the addition of Autauga and Chilton Counties, CASA of the River Region will now serve children across Montgomery, Elmore, Autauga, and Chilton Counties, expanding its reach and impact throughout the River Region.
