From: Martha Wilkinson, Theatre Coordinator
Way off Broadway Theatre
Prattvilleโs Way Off Broadway Theatre wrapped up its holiday run of Closed for the Holidays with full houses, big laughs, and an outpouring of love from audiences who found themselves right at home in this holiday comedy.
Set against the twinkling lights, carriage rides, and classic Christmas charm of Downtown Prattville, Closed for the Holidays proved to be the perfect seasonal companion. As audiences stepped in from the winter chill, they were welcomed into a story that felt both delightfully funny and deeply familiar; a reminder that sometimes the best Christmas moments come when plans fall apart. Night after night, audiences responded with hearty laughter, knowing nods, and that unmistakable holiday glow.
Under the direction of James Henry, the production sparkled with warmth and impeccable comic timing. The cast of 20, made up entirely of local talent, delivered performances that were authentic, joyful, and connected. The ensemble worked so well together, creating characters audiences rooted for and will remember.
Theatre Coordinator Martha Wilkinson shared, โWatching actors of all ages come together to tell this story was a gift to our audiences and to each other.โ
Audience feedback echoed that sentiment, with many sharing that the show โput them right into the Christmas spirit,โ made them laugh through tears, and reminded them what the season is really about: community, connection, and showing up for one another.
As Closed for the Holidays takes its final bow, Way Off Broadway Theatre extends thanks to the cast, crew, creative team, volunteers, and audiences who made this holiday production such a success. And while this chapter has closed, excitement is already buildingโWOBT 2026 Season Passes are available now, promising even more memorable stories and magical moments ahead.
