Brenda Dennis is the CEO and President of the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce. She was honored and recognized at the Millbrook Council meeting Tuesday and presented with a resolution in her honor. She was recently named the 2025 Alabama Chamber Champion by the Alabama Chambers organization.
Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley said these times of honoring people for their hard work and dedication make his job fun.
Kelley invited Dennis, and her husband, Eddie, to come to the front of the council chambers. He then read the proclamation in Brenda’s honor.
“In celebration of Mrs. Brenda Dennis. Whereas the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce under the outstanding leadership of President and CEO Brenda Dennis has demonstrated unwavering dedication to fostering economic growth, community engagement and professional excellence.
“And whereas Brenda Dennis has been named the 2025 Alabama Chamber Champion by the Alabama Chambers, a prestigious recognition awarded to an emerging chamber professional who exemplifies excellence in leadership service and innovation.
“And whereas since joining the Chamber industry in 2021, Brenda Dennis has made a profound impact in less than four years by increasing Chamber membership by 41 percent and boosting operating income by 54 percent.
“And whereas her leadership has led to a successful Chamber rebrand, a new and dynamic website, and the implementation of growth zone to streamline membership, communications and operations.
“And whereas Mrs. Brenda Dennis launched a collaborative mural grant program with the City of Millbrook supporting small businesses and contributing to the Alabama Mural Trail thus enhancing the city’s cultural and visual landscape.
“And whereas she strengthened the Chamber Ambassador program and initiated highly attended young professional events that connect and empower the next generation of leaders.
“And whereas her foresight and strategic thinking resulted in the development of the Chamber’s first strategic plan in 2022 and led to the Chamber’s inaugural membership in the US Chamber of Commerce.
“Now, therefore, be it resolved by the virtue of the authority vested in me as the Mayor of City of Millbrook, I do hereby proclaim that we honor and commend Brenda Dennis for exceptional leadership, steadfast service and inspiring contributions to the Millbrook Community and beyond and congratulate her on being named the 2025 Alabama Chamber Champion.”
Brenda thanked the mayor and council, saying she enjoys her work, and credited so many others, including the Board, for the work that has been accomplished. She praised the support of the entire council and community, stating “It really does take a village.”
