Beer was flowing, brews were had, music was playing and nothing but good times could be heard at the fifth annual CoosaPaloosa Brewfest 2024 in downtown Wetumpka Saturday afternoon, right on the river.

Main Street Wetumpka in partnership with Wind Creek Casino & Hotel hosted the Brewfest in Merchants Alley, which is located along the picturesque river walk, with a serene view of the historic Bibb Graves Bridge leading into downtown Wetumpka over the Coosa River.

“It gets better every year. This event is extremely important for our nonprofit organization as it is our largest fundraising event of the year. Each year we are blown away by the participation and community support,” Executive Director of Main Street Wetumpka Haley N. Greene said.

The rain held off just long enough throughout the mostly sunny afternoon, with only a few sprinkles few and far between from 3- 6 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Over 30 local to Alabama breweries and distribution companies were representing well over 50 different beers, hard seltzers and more. Boss Babe Burgers, Ben’s Soft Pretzels food trucks and Domino’s Pizza were available throughout the event Saturday.

A VIP section sponsored by Aldridge, Borden & Company, P.C., had additional seating, entry one hour early, a t-shirt, specialty food and shade in the VIP section. While general admission had tables, shade from greenery and the same access to the entire rest of the selection of beers and seltzers available.

Tickets also had special prices for designated drivers as opposed to drinking participants of the event. All tickets also came with complimentary 6 oz plastic glasses that all tastings were poured into.

While the event was a 21 plus event, it was however animal friendly. Puppies and monkeys alike were present, brought by participants, for patrons to pet, cuddle and love on while partaking in the event. Rumor has it that the puppies were also up for adoption.

“Funds from this event allows us to accomplish our mission of downtown revitalization and economic vitality in downtown Wetumpka.  We could not do it without our partnerships with the City of Wetumpka, Elmore County EMA, and our sponsors, Wind Creek Casino & Hotel, Direct Auto Insurance, Aldridge, Borden & Company, P.C., Publications Plus, Coosa River Craft House & Eleven86 Real Artesian Water,” Greene said.
