On Saturday, the Realty Connection held their 7th annual Easter Eggstravaganza at Lanark in Millbrook. Every year the Alabama Nature Center partners up with the Realty Connection to put on an amazing event for the children and their families for Easter and Halloween. There were close to 300 families attending, and over 3,000 eggs were hidden in the fields for children to find. Two golden eggs were also hidden in each of the different age groups. The golden egg winners received a basket for of Easter goodies. There were games to play at different vendor booths, prizes the children won, photos with live bunnies, and cotton candy to enjoy.

Barry Chrietzberg Photography had live bunny pictures for families to purchase on site. General admission applied at the event, and all proceeds when back to the Nature Center.

“This is a great community event for early spring,” said Aquatic Education Resource Assistant Matt Vines. He continued, “We had about 20 staff and volunteers help put this event on today. We had great weather and a good turnout as well. Guests were able to enjoy some time outdoors with their families. In addition to the three different Easter egg hunts, guests got to play games, win some prizes, visit with vendors, eat cotton candy, and take Easter pictures to name a few. It was a fun day all around. Thank you to Realty Connection, our staff, and volunteers who help make these types of events possible.”

One of the families that attended spoke to EAN about the event.

“This was our first time at this Easter event,” said Kadra Saint. She continued, “It was not overcrowded, everyone was super nice and overall, it’s definitely well organized. We will be back next year.”

“We had a wonderful time Saturday at our 7th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza,” said Realty Connection Owner Robin Davies. She continued, “Realty Connection is excited to partner with the Alabama Wildlife Federation each year to host this event. We look forward to it and really enjoy seeing everyone. Ttis year we had almost 300 families in attendance! Watching the kids play games, eat cotton candy and hunt 3,000 easter eggs is just the best. I loved watching the Golden Egg winners faces light up when they get their prize baskets, you just can’t beat that! We want to thank everyone who came out to join the fun and we want to give a huge shout out to ALL of our sponsors who make this event possible and so much more fun! Make sure to be on the lookout for our Halloween Carnival in October!”

The Alabama Nature Center’s next event is the ANC Earth Day Festival on April 13th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come over to the ANC and join them for our Earth Day Festival. They will have many different activities for all ages including live animals, crafts, educational programs, vendors, food, and more!
