Ready, aim, Throw! The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for The Battleground Axe throwing which officially opens Friday March 22nd.

New owners Adrienne and Darri Edwards confirmed they will have a soft opening Friday, where they will tentatively be open Thursday through Sunday going forward. This Friday they will be open at 5 p.m. for the soft opening and Saturday The Battleground Axe will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Ages 13 and up are welcome, and ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult, Adrian Edwards confirmed.

Edwards and his wife own multiple businesses in downtown Prattville, such as Adrienne’s Downtown Bar and they are partial owners of the Smartskin Spa and Salon, also downtown Prattville.

“Hopefully this is another avenue for us to be able to continue to grow the downtown experience, with more entertainment and things for people to do, and to bring more foot traffic downtown. That’s one thing we wanted to make sure we do, is provide good and clean entertainment where people can enjoy themselves,” Edwards said.

Edwards stated that without the support of his wife, none of this would be possible. Edwards went on to praise her for filling in the gaps, not only in their businesses but in their personal lives as well. Edwards went on to thank everyone in attendance and he appreciates the support from the community.

“We already had a footprint here and we wanted to expand on what we’re doing and what’s coming downtown, we wanted to be a part of it. What better way than to bring a family friendly business downtown, which is what we wanted to do. We want to make sure we help keep advancing downtown Prattville, and it enhances other businesses as well. People could start here and then go to the bar or dinner afterwards and make a full night of it. It’s a great stress reliever, date night and it gives people opportunities to come out. It’s a great date night, or to mix and mingle with friends,” Edwards said.

Chairman of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce Board, Lisa Miller, had high praise of the family fun centered business and the sense of community that the Edwards looks to bring to downtown Prattville.

“It just shows you the investment they are making within our community and particularly in downtown Prattville. They obviously find great value here and want to be a part of the community, they’re very involved, and we appreciate them investing in our community as well,” Miller said.

Edwards confirmed that they are already booked with reservations and future events. The Battleground Axe is located at 119 W Main St. Prattville.
