Tornado watch has been issued for parts of central Alabama
10am: The Anniston Airport recently measured a wind gust to 54 mph. Showers and thunderstorms continue to move eastward. As of 9:00 am, a tornado watch has been issued for parts of Alabama and Georgia until 4 PM CDT. Clusters of showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect central Alabama into this afternoon. While the main threat should be damaging winds, a couple tornadoes and large hail could occur as well.
