Billingsley Student Tanner Truesdale receives Future Farmers of America (FFA) Grant ‘Delivered’ by Domino’s®

20 Students Across the Nation Awarded $1,000 in FFA Grants Sponsored by Domino’s

BILLINGSLEY, Ala., Feb. 21, 2024 – Tanner Truesdale, a sophomore at Billingsley School, received a $1,000 FFA grant sponsored by Domino’s that will go toward his project in goat production.

Truesdale is one of twenty students across the nation to receive a $1,000 supervised agriculture experience (SAE) grant funded by Domino’s, as part of Domino’s $1.5 million commitment to National FFA.

Truesdale’s SAE project allows him to grow and improve the quality of his Boer goat herd. Truesdale exhibits his Boer goats at shows across Alabama and has goals to market his breeding stock at the national level.

In addition to this grant, Truesdale earned the first place Goat Production Proficiency Award, was awarded the Reserve Supreme Champion Breeding Doe at the Auburn Block & Bridel Sheep and Goat show, and was third overall Intermediate Goat Showman at the Alabama National Fair. Truesdale also plays varsity baseball and is involved in the American Boer Goat Association and Alabama Angus Association.

“As a Domino’s franchisee, I know firsthand that we would not have our delicious pizza without the farmers who work hard to produce the ingredients we use in our stores every day,” said James Midgette, local Domino’s franchise owner. “I am so proud that Domino’s supports local FFA students across the country – they are truly making a positive difference in the future of the agriculture industry.”

Domino’s has supported National FFA since 2017. In the first five years of their partnership, Domino’s contributed $1 million to the organization to support students through scholarships and grants. In 2022, Domino’s pledged $1.5 million over the course of five years. This support continues to fund grants and scholarships, as well as the development of sustainable agriculture education. The new education resources will cover topics such as water conservation, soil health and waste management.
