The Long Lewis Ford dealership in Prattville awarded Michelle Wilson with their Hero of the Month Award for the month of December Friday afternoon in Prattville. This is an award that the dealership awards every month and takes to social media to decide each month’s recipients.

“We really just want to recognize someone in the community that does exactly what Michelle does. Everybody knows her and is just really doing something for themselves. It’s just a lot of fun to be able to recognize these people,” general manager of Long Lewis Ford Jonathan Vick said.

Through the dealership’s Facebook, the post with the most likes for that candidate receives a $500 check to award outstanding members that embody community service and highlight the needs of others before their own.

In attendance of this award was not only Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie, Prattville Sheriff Mark Harrell, members of the Prattville Fire Department, ambassadors for the Millbrook Chamber of Commerce, other influential elected officials as well as friends and family in the community.

The reason that all these people are here with me, is the reason I’m a “hero.” Giving back to the community is very important to me. It’s part of being a good citizen and it’s just one of the best things that you can do for your community,” Wilson said.
