The Tallassee Police Department previously reached out to CrimeStoppers on January 4, 2024, and was seeking the public’s help with identifying the suspect involved in a business robbery. Investigators say the suspect has since been identified and charged.

Tallassee Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown suspect wanted for a business robbery that occurred on January 2, 2024, at about 1:30 pm at Marathon Gas Station located at 511 Jordan Avenue, Tallassee, Alabama. Investigators say the pictured suspect, identified as a black male, entered the business, produced an unknown type of handgun, and demanded currency. Investigators say the suspect took an assortment of US currency and left the business in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they had identified the suspect as Zyquarius Collins, 19. Collins was arrested on January 5, 2024, and charged with robbery 1st degree, where he is being held on a $6,000.00 bond at the Elmore County Detention Facility.

Investigators would like to thank the public and media for their efforts in ensuring awareness of the original investigation. This is yet another great example of how we can all work together to help create public awareness and solve crime.
