Prattville Fire Department Receives Zoll Cardiac Care Award and Challenge Coin

From Prattville Fire Department

Earlier this year, Rescue 21, Ladder 1, and Battalion 1 responded to a 911 call at at local business for an unconscious patient. Upon arrival, a patient was found to be in cardiac arrest. After initiating Basic Life Support procedures and preparing for Advanced Life Support care, the patient was noted to be in a lethal cardiac arrythmia on our ZOLL monitor. The patient was immediately defibrillated and CPR was continued. An airway was established by our medics and cardiac medications were delivered. The patient regained a pulse upon arrival at a local ER.
Recently, we were able to present the crew with the Zoll Cardiac Care Award and Challenge Coin for their successful resuscitation. Congratulations to Captain RC Allen, Sergeant S. McGlamry, Battalion Chief K. Russell, Sergeant T. Harris, and Firefighter A. Moorer (not pictured Firefighter T. Sides). Again, we are thankful to be provided with great training and equipment from our community and its leaders.
