Prattville Flag Football Picks Up Another Area Win; PCA Volleyball player records 2,000 career assists

The Prattville Lions’ Flag Football traveled to Park Crossing on Tuesday night in an area matchup, and came away with a 34-0 win, to improve their record to 9-4 in the school’s first season in the sport.

In the contest against Park Crossing, quarterback Hartley McCay was 8-12 for 117 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. Kaylee Robles and Lanieya Page both had a receiving touchdown. Robles also had a rushing touchdown, as did London Williams.

The Prattville defense also put points on the board when Emma Gunn returned an interception for a touchdown. Lily Easterling had one sack and Eriana Benson had a tackle for loss.

After a tri-match at Montgomery Catholic next week, and a road contest at Smiths Station October 23, the Lions will take on area foe Sidney Lanier in their final regular season contest on October 24. A win over the Poets would clinch an area championship for Prattville in their inaugural season.

PCA Volleyball Sophomore Baylee Rogers Records 2,000 Varsity Career Assist in match against Brew Tech

The Prattville Christian Academy Panther’s Volleyball team lost in five sets to Brew Tech last week, 25-23, 25-17, 16-25, 21-25, 13-15. In the game, Sophomore Baylee Rogers recorded her 2,000th varsity career assist. Rogers is the first volleyball player at PCA to reach the milestone.

In the five-set match, Rogers had 16 assists, 1 kill, and 15 digs.

Baileigh Seale had 12 assists, 10 digs, and 4 aces.

Emma Cate Carter had 14 kills,17 digs, 1 block, and 2 aces.

Natalee Wheeler had 10 digs, 2 assists, and 1 ace.

Paysley Bayer had 5 kills, 5 digs, and 1 ace. 

Morgan Fowler had 11 digs and 1 ace.

Leah Cate Wilson had 7 kills and 1 dig.

Kyra Sims had 2 kills, 6 digs, and 1 block.

Jenna McClendon had 4 kills and 3 blocks.

Brylee Byrd had 7 digs.

Aiden Williams had 3 digs.

Peyton Woodfin had 1 kill and 3 digs. 

Dakotah Zimbelman had 1 dig.

The Panthers returned to action on October 10 and took on Providence and Saint James in a tri-match. The Panthers defeated Providence Christian 25-21, 17-25, 15-6, and fell to St. James 21-25, 18-25.

For the tri-match, Rogers recorded another 39 assists, 2 kills, 1 ace, and 10 digs.

Jenna McClendon had 12 kills and 5 blocks. 

Emma Cate Carter had 10 kills, 3 aces, 1 block, and 16 digs.

Kyra Sims had 11 kills, 7 blocks, and 1 dig.

Leah Cate Wilson had 5 kills, 1 block, and 2 digs.

Natalee Wheeler had 1 ace, 1 assist, and 9 digs.

Baileigh Seale had 4 aces, 1 assist, and 13 digs.

Morgan Fowler had 2 aces and 9 digs.

Brylee Byrd had 16 digs.

Paysley Bayer had 2 kills and 5 digs.

PCA’s records is 24-15 and the Panthers will travel to Pike Road for the next contest on Thursday.
