Joseph Ray Perkins was serving a 20-year prison sentence for Theft at the Hamilton Community Based Facility and Community Work Center located at 1826 Bexar Avenue East
Hamilton, AL 35570. On July 19, 2023, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Perkins was reported to have walked away from his work assignment at Masonite in Haleyville, Alabama. He was last seen on video footage at approximately 1:45 am at this location. Perkins was last seen wearing black sweatpants, blue short-sleeve T-shirt with black stripe on back, and brown boots
