2023 Junior Gold Championships Coming up; Area Players headed to Compete

By Coach Robin Campbell

Junior Gold Championships is a world premier youth championship that is held in July. This year it is held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Participants come from all over the United States and some internationally, to compete in a grueling 7-day tournament. It will test each player’s mind and body. The oil patterns are not revealed until after the Championship is over and the results have been released. Each player gets three days of practice for a short time frame. In between the practices, there are other events taking place, registration, trade shows, Party in the Park and the Opening Ceremony. U12-U18 are spread out between six bowling alleys.

On Thursday, July 13th, players and their families are making their trip to Indiana. Friday, July 14th starts the three-day practice. Monday, July 17th starts the four qualifying rounds, advancer rounds, match play and finals. The finals will be televised nationally on www.BowlTv.com.

This is a wonderful opportunity for each player to test their knowledge and skills.
