The Elmore County Auburn Club will host its annual Summer Kickoff Fundraiser July 17 at the Wetumpka Civic Center.  The event will begin at 5:30pm with time for photographs, autographs, and social time with Auburn fans.  A barbecue dinner will follow.

Auburn’s head baseball coach, Butch Thompson, will be the featured speaker.  Coach Thompson just completed his eighth year as the baseball head coach and lead Auburn to a repeat regional host for the NCAA World Series.  Coach Thompson is considered one of the top recruiters in the country and is currently loading his roster for the 2024 season.  Due to the perennial success of the Auburn team under Coach Thompson’s leadership, Auburn University recently finalized the plans for a $30 million two-year renovation to Plainsman Park.  Construction is slated to begin in July 2023.

Other representatives from Auburn University will also be in attendance to provide information regarding the NIL Collective, the Auburn Alumni Association, and other Auburn organizations. You do NOT have to be a member of the Alumni Association to attend.  If you are a fan of Auburn or simply interested in collegiate athletics, this will be a fun, family-friendly, informative evening with the opportunity to speak directly with Coach Thompson and other Auburn representatives.

Event tickets for ages 4 and up are available for $28 online at elmorecountyauburnclub.ticketleap.com/elmore-co-auburn-kickoff-fundraiser or at The Shoppes Downtown, 211 Hill Street, downtown Wetumpka. Table sponsorships are available for $300 and include promotions and preferred seating for eight. For information regarding table sponsorships, email  elmorecountyaubclub@gmail.com

Proceeds from the event will be used to fund future scholarships for Elmore county students attending Auburn University.  The 2023 scholarship recipients will be recognized at the event.

The Elmore County Auburn Club’s purpose is to promote Auburn University and provide scholarships to Elmore County seniors who plan to attend Auburn University in the fall.  The Club hosts events and fundraising projects to fund the scholarships.  Individuals or businesses who would like to support the Club’s efforts may do so by mailing your donations to the Elmore County Auburn Club, c/o JP Martin, President, 328 Jordan Beach Road, Wetumpka, Alabama, 36092, or by making a tax-deductible donation to the Auburn University Foundation marked for the Elmore County Auburn Club Scholarship.
