An Elmore County Grand Jury has found there is no evidence to move forward with criminal charges in the death of Chris Teeter, 50, who died after a physical altercation at a bar in January.

The case is No Billed, meaning the Grand Jury heard evidence, but felt it did not amount to criminal charges being pursued against anyone involved in the altercation.

Rumors swirled after the incident, with claims Teeter was attacked by a group of people, or weapons were involved. However, an excellent video security system outside Little Bit of Texas bar in Elmore County proved that was not the case.

According to officials, Teeter was in an altercation outside of the bar and punched a man once, knocking him out. Within seconds, a second individual approached Teeter and punched him once, knocking Teeter to the ground.

Video evidence shown to the grand jury proved no other punches were thrown and no weapons were involved. When Teeter did not regain consciousness, emergency services were called to the scene.

Teeter would die a short time later.

At the time of the incident, Wetumpka Police Department officials did not make an arrest in the case, opting to wait for the autopsy report. When the findings of that report were listed as homicide, the case was sent to an Elmore County Grand Jury, and their findings were made public today.

Criminally, this case is now closed, officials said.
