FROM CENTRAL ALABAMA CRIMESTOPPERS

The Prattville Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised the suspect involved in a theft and forgery case has been identified.

In February, Prattville Police investigators released a photo of an unknown subject wanted for theft of property 2nd degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument. The offense occurred, Wednesday, December 9, 2022, around 3:54 p.m., at Synovus Bank, located at 2005 Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville, Alabama. Investigators say the pictured suspect, described as a white male, entered the business, cashed a fraudulent check, and left the business in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators say an anonymous tipster provided information to CrimeStoppers that was crucial in solving this case. The tip not only identified the suspect but also led to criminal charges.

The suspect is not in police custody at this time, however, warrants have been signed.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers will be providing a cash reward to the anonymous tipster for helping identify the suspect.
