From Main Street Wetumpka

WETUMPKA, ALABAMA  – Main Street Wetumpka to introduce the “Love this Place” campaign during the month of February. This campaign uses the Main Street Wetumpka slogan of “We Love This Place” to strengthen its historic business district in the heart of Wetumpka. The “Love this Place” campaign will focus on the unity of small businesses, love for downtown and social media calls to action.

The social media campaign will start on Wednesday, February 1 and run through February 28. During the month, the public is encouraged to participate in weekly calls to action by liking, commenting, reviewing, and sharing small businesses on their social media platforms. This is an easy and free way to support the local economy and businesses that make up the heart of Wetumpka.

Haley N. Greene, Director of Main Street Wetumpka, explains “It is important for our community to remember what downtown Wetumpka looked like in 2016 or even 2019. The transformation is inspiring and we hope this campaign kindles a new love for downtown and reminds residents of how far we’ve come in a few short years.”

In conjunction with the “Love this Place” campaign, Main Street Wetumpka is hosting a full day of love on February 4 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM for Galentine’s on Main. On Saturday, the public is invited to join the fun downtown and enjoy a variety of sales, photo opportunities, live music, themed drinks, specialty food, and more! Galentines on Main is a promotional event created by volunteers who love downtown and want to support local businesses during the slow month of February.
