Tallassee High School will host the Capital City Classic this weekend, beginning Friday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center, located at 201 Tallapoosa Street.
With the THS show choir Voltage, Divas, and Gold Edition hosting, there will be 18 Mixed Groups, six Womens Groups, two Mens Groups, and 12 Middle School Groups at the two-day event.
This annual choir exhibition is a longstanding tradition for THS students, faculty and staff.
“We are hosting over 40 schools at the MPAC this week,” THS Music Appreciation’s Michael Bird said.
From the Pride of Tallassee Marching Band to the popular show choirs, THS encourages students to perform at their highest level.
“Tallassee is blessed to have, at this time, 206 students enrolled in our choral and band classes” Bird said. “We have four concert choirs and three show choirs; we also offer marching band, concert band, and jazz band.”
