More information about Kyle “Kyken” Kennedy

On September 19, 2019 Kyle “Kyken” Kennedy left behind a wife and daughter that was truly his everything in life. He grew up in a military family and was one of the most patriotic people that you could meet. He had a way of stoking that patriotic fire inside you. Camping was a large part of his family time along with Auburn football (we all forgave him for that).

He was a member of the Sons of the American Squadron 133 at American Legion Post 133 in Millbrook. He was the Vice President of American Cruisers Chapter 46 (Lost Highway Chapter) and this is where his love of the community shined the most.

I am the President of American Cruisers Chapter 46 (Lost Highway Chapter) and Kyken and myself had a bond that can only be described as Brothers that knew what the other was thinking. Most of the time we brought up the exact same ideas to each other for various functions or rides or chapter family time. As Brothers go, we did not see eye to eye on everything. But at the end of the day, when everything was talked out, we never left each other without “Love ya Brother let me know your good.” His loss affected many people.

We as a chapter started a fundraiser the year he passed away and made sure his daughters’ education fund got a great start. This year with the permission of his widow we will start to raise money for Elmore and Autauga County Seniors. Our plan is to raise as much money as we can to grant as many $500 general scholarships possible to those students that will qualify for them in Elmore and Autauga Counties. We will post up the online applications and make arrangements with the schools to have some paper copies as soon as the applications are finished being developed. We have a large day of events from a poker run, a chili cook off, and a after party. All details are on the flyer. Any questions about the day’s events or how to donate  can be obtained by contacting me, James “Joker” Gillespie at 334-451–1988. Any questions concerning the scholarships and application process please send an email to acmc46@gmail.com

Please see the flyer for all information pertinent to these events.
