On Tuesday, the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly Morning Brew at Stanhope Elmore High School located at 4300 Main Street in Millbrook. Everyone who attended had the opportunity to tour the completely renovated and expanded school Cafeteria. The school cafeteria has been under construction for the past year. The new cafeteria is set to re-open for all of the students on Monday, September 26th.

The Morning Brew was held in the Atrium, and everyone enjoyed visiting with one another, sipping amazing coffee, and delicious breakfast snacks that were all provided by the Elmore County Child Nutrition program. A few door prizes were also given away.

Brenda Dennis, Executive Director for the MACC welcomed everyone that attended and thanked them for coming out to the Morning Brew event. Brannon Bowman, Pastor of Millbrook Presbyterian Church gave the invocation.

A special recognition was given to, Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools; Principal Ewell Fuller; Mayor Al Kelley; City Council President Michael Gay; Councilwoman Jacquelyn Thomas; Jimmy Harris; Cindy Pate, the Regional Director at the Office of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville; Board of Education members; as well as, the MACC members and ambassadors. Also, a special recognition to the Yearbook staff of SEHS.

“One of the things that Richard Dennis tasked me with when I was hired on as principal was building community relationships, being involved with local businesses, and bonding with the families. Richard Dennis’ vision and leadership is the reason we are here today. I want to thank  Cacyce Davis, Director of the Child Nutrition program and the other ladies that are behind the scenes of the Child Nutrition Program. They have done a phenomenal job over the past three years adjusting the flow and doing whatever needs to be done. I also want to thank Mayor Al Kelley for always supporting us in everything we do. I am surrounded by some really great people, a great support team, and I want to thank everyone for coming,” said Ewell Fuller.

Supt. Richard Dennis said, “When you hear about the phone pouches, you think it’s the most important thing in the world, but what you do not hear is the STEM Academy that’s being structured and put in place at SEHS. When you look at the meat of our curriculum it will be a huge asset to this school and that’s what people will come here and see in the months to come. At the Middle School, you have curriculum put in for STEM all the way up through the high school. We appreciate the board supporting us, the county supporting us, so we can implement these programs for our students. I want to thank the county, the city, and every other group to include the YMCA. Also, I want to mention, 17 Springs is underway and opening up the tennis courts in the next month or so. Again, thank you all for the support.”
