After Much Prayer, Sweet Hart Coffee Co. Opens with Huge Success in Millbrook

ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

On August 2nd Sweet Hart Coffee Co. held their official Grand Opening in Millbrook, Alabama. The owners, Lucas and Brianna Hart, opened to the community in late May of 2022 with the help of their two children, Reagan and Lucas Jr.

The couple saw a need in our area, and wanted to bring locally roasted coffee made in Alabama to the heart of Millbrook.

Friends of the Harts, brought them to Alabama for a visit some time back. The Harts lived in Washington State, just west of Seattle. Brianna fell in love with the area and told her husband, Lucas, about the people here, the culture, and the small-town feel. He then decided to go on the next two trips with his wife to see what Alabama had to offer.

At first, they wanted to do something where they could work together but it was taking the direction of mortgage or real estate. They noticed the area did not have many drive-thru coffee stands and found themselves deprived of coffee locations versus what they were used to back in Washington.

“One morning when we were waking up, I decided to go downstairs at the hotel for some of their complimentary coffee. I was not very enthused about the taste. When tasting that coffee, I knew what we could do. After talking with Brianna, we had a plan in place. She is also an experienced barista, too, which made the plan even better,” said Lucas.

“Brianna always wanted to have a coffee shop but it had never panned out. Well, when God gets involved, things can change, and it did for us,” he said.

Sweet Hart Coffee Co. combines sweet home Alabama and the Heart of Dixie. Lucas refers to his wife as sweetheart a lot, so that was an added bonus!

The straws from the coffee stand are red, and in a shape of a heart. Each cup has a sticker which has a scripture from the Bible. If they run out of stickers, the employees will hand write the scripture on the cup.

They carry six different coffee drinks, tea, and Italian soda and food. They are the only company in the area to sell Lotus energy and Lotus fruit fusion drinks.

The also carry specialty hometown favorites which include; “The Marsha” which has white chocolate mocha plus chai, vanilla, and English toffee; “The Amy” which has dark chocolate mocha plus cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne pepper; “the Bri” which has white chocolate mocha plus lavender; “The Shannon” with salted caramel latte, and “The Lucas” which has  Americano plus white chocolate, and half and half.

The food consists of Kingdom Dough donuts from Millbrook, Alabama, fruit, muffins, and bagels. They also carry Commit.Fuel.Train frozen pre-packaged meals to go, and their delicious breakfast bites, too.

Sweet Hart Coffee Co’s hope is to be a coffee company that centers God in everything they do. They are committed to serving the community while making new and lasting relationships. They are creating a family-focused business. They want to provide some “caffeine and Jesus” with every cup and support their local community through fundraisers and community events.

The Harts would like to thank the community for coming out to the Grand Opening on August 2nd.
