PAHS Pet of the week is Nicholas; 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute

FROM THE PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SOCIETY

Nicholas is a 3-year-old male Alaskan Malamute/Husky mix who must be neutered before he is adopted.  He came to PAHS as a stray from out in the county; and his owner never reclaimed him.

Nicholas is stunningly handsome!  His medium length coat is black with white markings; and he has one brown eye and one blue eye.  Nicholas currently weighs 54 pounds and he is considered to be a medium sized adult dog.  He is quite active and would need an owner who would be willing to devote time to making sure he gets enough exercise.

Since these dogs are considered to be the “Houdini dog” of escape artists; he would need a very securely fenced yard.  Nicholas would be fine with children but not so much with other dogs.  If you have another dog we would recommend that your bring your dog out for a supervised meet and greet with Nicholas; or we would suggest he NOT be in a home with other dogs.  This incredibly pretty guy will find a home quickly.  Come meet Nicholas soon.

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats.

This fee covers a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.  We are closed the last Thursday of the month for staff training.  Adoptions are currently by appointment only.
