From Rev. Janet Krantz

Robinson Springs United Methodist Church

Dear Millbrook Community and Church Leaders,

Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is well known in our area for the excellent work they do in helping children who have experienced abuse, who have been victimized, or who have encountered a tragedy.

In a proactive stance, Butterfly Bridge is offering those of us in positions of working with children, an important training opportunity. On Thursday, July 28, 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Millbrook 1st UMC Fellowship Hall, Andria Bibb will conduct child abuse prevention training. The training is Stewards of Children through Darkness to Light.

This is a Free 2-hour training</strong> that helps adults, recognize, react, and prevent Child Sex Abuse. The outline of the training is to go over the 5-Steps that it takes to prevent child abuse which include: Learning the Facts, Minimizing Opportunities, Talking About It, Recognizing the Signs, and Reacting Responsibly. The training includes videos from survivors of Child Sex Abuse and helps the trainees to get a personal view of the severity of these acts.

Won’t you join us in the fight against child abuse and commit to being more informed? Please share this information with those whom you believe would benefit. Please respond to this email so we know you are coming!

Thank you and may God bless you in your service in our community!
