CANDIDATE FOR AUTAUGA COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 2

I have lived in Autauga County since 1966. I started my educational journey in Autauga County in fourth grade at Prattville Elementary and graduated from Autauga County High School in the top 10% of my class in 1975. I have four older siblings and two children are also graduates of the Autauga County School System. 

I graduated with an accounting degree from Auburn University in 1978 and received my MBA from Auburn University in Montgomery in 1985.  I received my CMA designation (Certified  Management Accountant) in 1992. I have worked in the accounting arena for over 43 years. I am retired as the CFO of a private Company in Montgomery, Moore Company.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, June Searcy, since 1978. She is also a graduate of Autauga County High School, class of 1977. June taught in the Autauga County School system for 25 years as a first grade teacher at Prattville Primary School.  My deceased mother-in-law (Susan Cranfield), my brother (Roger Lambert), and my sister (Patty Sutherland Moore) have  also taught and retired from Autauga County School system.  My daughter, Katie Lindsey, is currently an Autauga County School employee as an Assistant Principal at Daniel Pratt  Elementary School. I also has five grandchildren enrolled in the Autauga County School system and athletic programs.

I am a member of Prattville First United Methodist Church where I have served on various boards throughout the years.  I am currently the Finance Committee Chairperson. I have worked with the adult, youth and children programs for many years. I am a former board member of the Autauga County Habitat for Humanity and held the position of treasurer for two years. I also was a participant and leader in the Autauga County Leadership Program. My newest appointment is having the honor as serving on the Autauga/Library Board. I have a professional background, a servant’s heart, and a compassionate drive for education. I humbly ask for your vote on May 24th for ACBOE District 2.

I want to work together with our educational community to move the ACBOE in a positive direction for all students, faculty, and staff. I feel I bring to the table the following:
