Elmore/Autauga News

On the eve of the Primary, candidates and election officials in both Elmore and Autauga Counties are prepping to make sure everything goes off without a hitch and also those eligible voters take their responsibility seriously.

Autauga County Probate Judge Kim Kervin said that exercising the right to vote is important in any election.

“The Primary Election will set the stage for November’s General Election,” she said. “The candidates have worked hard during the campaign process and it’s important for voters to go to the polls and show their support for their candidates and for their commitment to service in our nation, county, or state.”

Kervin also said that her desire, as the Chief Election Officer of Autauga County, is that the entire election process from registering to vote to casting a ballot on election day is a rewarding and pleasant experience for everyone.

“We are fortunate to have the best and most knowledgeable polling officials in the State of Alabama working at the polls in Autauga County,” Kervin added. “In fact, we have some poll workers who have served in that role for decades. All of our polling officials do an amazing job each election cycle.”

Kervin added that the Primary ballot also includes a statewide constitutional amendment measure, which is related to Alabama’s state parks, public historical sites and public historical parks.
