Prattville Christian Academy’s Baseball Team Captains Sign Athletic Scholarships with JUCO Programs

From PCA

Prattville Christian Academy is proud to announce two more Panthers to sign Letters of Intent to play baseball at the collegiate level. During a dual ceremony last week, Jackson Reed signed with Columbia State Community College in Columbia, Tennessee, and Taylor Lowe signed with Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Edrick Yelder signed with Alabama State University in a separate ceremony earlier this year.

Both student-athletes anchored the mound during their time on the varsity roster. Jackson Reed and Taylor Lowe were starting pitchers who led the team with stability and dedication to their teammates, their positions, and the sport. According to Tommy Goodson, PCA’s head baseball coach, “the guys were the backbone of the team.”

Jackson Reed has been a varsity starter since his ninth-grade year. His talent has created many opportunities for him to hone his skills. In addition to receiving multiple collegiate offers, Reed was one of just 175 student-athletes invited to play in the 2019 preseason baseball tournaments hosted by Under Armour’s Baseball Factory – an organization that specializes in player development and college placement for elite high school players.

Taylor Lowe rounds out the team’s infield at third base when not on the mound. As one of the Panthers’ best all-around hitters and a three-year starter, Lowe bats third in the lineup because of his consistency and speed. He, offensively, is a unique blend of batting average and power and typically hits early and often, putting runs on the board.

“All great programs need student-athletes committed to the team and families committed to the program,” said Coach Goodson. “These families are big supporters of what we’re trying to do on and off the field.”
