Prattville Police Investigating Parking Lot Shooting on Cobbs Ford Road

ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

On Monday, April 18, Prattville investigators responded to Prattville Baptist Hospital in reference to a 17-year-old male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

The victim said he was walking out of his place of work around 8 p.m. in the 2500 block of Cobbs Ford Road.

He told investigators he was walking across the parking lot when he heard what sounded like a gunshot. He then ran to his girlfriend’s vehicle in the parking lot, not realizing he was shot until he was in the car.

He was taken to Prattville Baptist for treatment, and the suspect(s) fled the scene prior to police arrival. Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson said at this time it does not appear this was a random act, but that the victim was targeted.

The Prattville Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Prattville Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
