The United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force and the Montgomery Police Department continue their search for Capital Murder Suspect Diego Barrera.

Diego Barrera is urged to turn himself over to authorities as soon as possible. 

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Montgomery Patrol Units and medics responded to the 1700 block of Upper Wetumpka Road in reference to a subject shot. Upon arrival, the victim, black male Carlos Jones, 39 YOA, of Montgomery was found to have sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.

During the investigation, Hispanic male Diego Barrera, age 20, was developed as a suspect.
