The Montgomery Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 39-year-old male and seeks the public’s help in locating the suspect.
On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Montgomery Patrol Units and medics responded to the 1700 block of Upper Wetumpka Road in reference to a subject shot. Upon arrival, the victim, black male Carlos Jones, 39 YOA, of Montgomery was found to have sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.
During the investigation, Hispanic male Diego Barrera, age 20, was developed as a suspect. At this time Diego Barrera has not been apprehended.
