ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

Cedric Long, 28, of Millbrook is now in custody after U.S. Marshalls located him today in Prattville, assisted by the Prattville Police Department.

Long was already out on bond related to separate charges in Elmore County and had multiple warrants as well from the Millbrook Police Department. But now he is facing a murder charge, assault 2nd degree and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. He has been sought by multiple law enforcement agencies since he was released on bond earlier this year.

On March 12, Autauga County deputies were dispatched to Autaugaville after a shooting that left one person dead and three others injured on North Pickett Street.

Sheriff Joe Sedinger recently announced the arrest of another suspect in the shooting that led to the death of Cameron Motley, 22, of Autaugaville.

Deputies responded to a call for multiple gunshots in the 200 block of North Pickett Street, where they found three people with non-life-threatening injuries and one with life threatening injuries, who later died from his wounds.

Official release From Autauga County Sheriff Joe Sedinger:

Cedric Maurice Long aka “Fatt,” aka “Fat Man,” of Elmore County was located by members of the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force today. Long was taken into custody on outstanding warrants for Murder, Assault 2nd Degree, and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling.

The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force for their dedicated work and support to the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office.

The Fugitive Task Force was instrumental in capturing two of the Murder suspects in this case, Jermichael Nixon aka “Mike Mike” and Cedric Long, aka “Fatt,” and taking them into custody without injury to suspects or officers.

Cedric Long is being held in the Autauga Metro Jail on a bond of $590,000.00 for those previously listed charges.
