With vendors, fellow business owners, local citizens, city officials and The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce in attendance Thursday, Main Street Vintage Market had a huge turnout for their Ribbon Cutting.

Ann Harper, the Economic Development Director for the City of Millbrook, said “We are very pleased to have Mike and Amy Floyd join our business community by opening Main Street Vintage Market, particularly at this time when the City is working hard to improve our downtown area. This not only makes it more attractive visually, but encourages economic growth through the investment of new retail.  I can’t think of a better use for that particular building on our Main Street. I applaud the Floyd’s efforts to help bring growth and opportunity to our area.”

This building has a lot of history and many people remember the building as being Big Bear Grocery.

“I have so many great memories in this building. I was a grocery bagger here when I was younger,” said Mayor Al Kelley.

The owners Mike and Amy Floyd would appreciate any memorabilia that citizens of Millbrook may have from the store when it was Big Bear Grocery.

“We are so grateful for the support of the community during our grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. We feel this store is the pride of Millbrook. We want travelers from all over to come experience shopping with us, but Millbrook has been a huge support. Most of our vendors live here. The City, the Chamber and Realtor Lucretia Cauthen have been so helpful and so supportive. We have so much gratitude to everyone,” said Owner Mike Floyd.

The business offers a large selection of items like home decor, clothing, accessories, furniture and so much more.

Booth prices begin at $90. Without the pressure of overhead anyone can be a business owner and open a booth. You have the option to decorate your booth as you would like, and you don’t have the added pressure of operational costs.

Main Street Vintage Market is located on Main Street in Millbrook next to Kingdom Dough. Stop by to shop or call and ask about booth availability at 334-568-9744. For more information and operating hours, follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MainStreetVintageMarketMillbrook.
