With a successful first year in business, Oswalt’s of Prattville in The Covered Bridge Shopping Center celebrated with a ribbon cutting today, joined by the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Johnathan and Summer Oswalt weren’t sure of their plans when moving back to Alabama five years ago. They knew they wanted to move back to Johnathan’s home state and continue to work in retail, as they own a retail business in Georgia.

They also knew they first wanted to find a church home and God would lead them to their physical home from there.

They visited churches in Birmingham exploring that area and then decided to visit Johnathan’s home church in Prattville, Hunter Hills Church of Christ. Before leaving the parking lot they knew where their new home would be located.

Their business plan model was for a retail business that was similar to the already established Kinnucans of Prattville. When that store closed its doors, the couple took the opportunity to move forward.

“I told family and friends all the complications that there were amid the stressful situation we are all currently in I can’t believe the support we have and it’s better than we could have ever imagined,” said Oswalt.

Shop Oswalt’s large selection of items like AFTCO, Vera Bradley, Southern Marsh, Old Row Ariat and Hey Dudes  from Monday- Saturday 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Congratulations Oswalt’s on a fantastic first year in business!
