David Fowler, of Prattville, Named Chief of Police for Faulkner University

From Faulkner University

Please welcome our new Chief of Police David Fowler who will begin his new role on June 1, 2021!

Fowler currently serves as one of our Faulkner police officers.

“In his short time with us at Faulkner thus far, David has demonstrated exemplary performance, leadership, and resourcefulness,” said Dr. Jean-Noel Thompson, Vice President of Student Services. “Chief Fowler is a man of faith who enjoys engaging with and serving all members of our community.”

Fowler comes to Faulkner with 25+ years of experience as a professional law enforcement officer, most of which has been served in various positions of leadership for the City of Prattville Police Department.  Chief Fowler’s vast experience as a high-ranking supervisor, trainer, and investigator; combined with his highly personable demeanor, brings much to our safety efforts within our Faulkner campus communities.

The announcement follows Chief Phillip Calvert’s decision to step down from his position after serving as Chief of Police for 3 years. We’re happy to know he will remain a part of the Campus Safety and Police team at Faulkner Huntsville, where he will be closer to where he and his family live.
