With recent graduations happening in our area, many high school seniors have a decision to make about their future. Some will be attending college in the Fall. But some already have a career path in mind thanks to the training they received from the Elmore County Career and Technical Education program.
Today was Signing Day for these Seniors, who posed with family, school officials and business representatives as they received their certificates. Some of these seniors have already started working at individual companies, even before graduation from high school.
From Elmore County Career and Technical Education
“Today, Elmore County Career and Technical Education hosted our 3rd Annual CTE Career Signing Day at ECTC recognizing 19 seniors in Elmore County Schools who are headed to the workforce in jobs directly related to their CTE programs of study!
Some students were unable to attend the event as they are already on their job sites, and some are visiting us to take photos different days this week as they have a day off. We are also steadily receiving updates from additional CTE students who have secured employment, and we’ll continue to share those success stories as they come in. Congratulations to each of you as you utilize your CTE training to contribute to the workforce!”

The Elmore County Technical Center (ECTC) offers Career and Technical Educational (CTE) programs on the ECTC campus in Wetumpka for students from all four physical campus high schools – Elmore County, Holtville, Stanhope Elmore, and Wetumpka High – as well as The EDGE Virtual School. Students can gain nationally recognized certifications and industry credentials that offer them internships and employment opportunities during and after high school.
In addition to the high school CTE courses, ECTC offers a variety of technical and academic dual enrollment courses through Central Alabama Community College where students earn college credits toward their career aspirations. See more photos below.
