Montgomery Zoo Moves Saturday Event to Sunday Due to Severe Weather Threat

FROM THE MONTGOMERY ZOO

Due to the threat of severe weather predicted for the area on Saturday, April 24, 2021, the final Zoo Weekend day will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Gates open at 9:00 am, the last admission is at 5:00 pm and we ask guests to exit the park by 6:00 pm.

Special tickets are required to play games and slide down the giant slides. Game/Ride Tickets are $5 per sheet of ten tickets.

Tickets for the Skylift, Train, and Giraffe Encounter can be purchased at each attraction with a credit card.  Cash purchases for tickets are available in both the Zoo and Museum Gift Shops.  Parakeet Cove and Petting Zoo Feeding opportunities may be purchased from the vending machines located at each attraction or at both the Zoo and Museum Gift Shops.

This last installment of Zoo Weekend will be centered on conservation and Earth Day.  We will have representatives from organizations promoting wildlife conservation, recycling, water conservation, and more.

Local country artist Cameron DuBois will perform on the Cumulus Media stage at 2:00 pm.

The number of guests each will be limited to 4,000.  In order to ensure that you have a spot, advance reservations are highly recommended for anyone attending Zoo Weekend(s), including zoo members.  Go online to www.montgomeryzoo.com to reserve your spot.  Tickets will be available for walk-ups as long as the 4,000 guest limit has not been met.  Once the threshold of 4,000 zoo visitors in the park has been reached, there will be no additional admissions allowed to enter the park, including Montgomery Zoo Members.

Overflow parking and shuttle service to the Zoo is provided at the ADEM building located at 1400 Coliseum Boulevard. Shuttles will run continuously from 8:30 am until the ADEM lot is empty.

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

In an effort to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are following the guidelines provided by the CDC, ADPH and City of Montgomery. Guests, six years old and over, will be required to wear masks when unable to maintain a safe distance from other guests, inside the gift shop, museum, restrooms, reptile exhibit and Overlook Café.  Masks are also required while in line to board the train as well as when riding.  Hand sanitizing stations are placed throughout the Zoo for the convenience of our guests.

Volunteers Needed

The Zoo is recruiting volunteers to help with games, sell tickets, and other important roles. It takes a lot of help to hosts events like this and without volunteers giving their time and talent it would not be near the fun. This is a great opportunity for students, church, civic and corporate groups to give back to the River Region in a fun and exciting environment.
