The Prattville Spinners Club has been without a major fundraising event since the Fall of 2019 – but’s that’s about to change.

On Saturday, March 20th, the Spinners Club will be hosting their “Bunny Hop Shop” from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Prattville at Spinners Park.

The event will feature dance routines from CJ’s Dance Studio, door prizes, food trucks and vendors of all kinds. The Prattville Spinners are well known for their annual October Pumpkin Patch event in the park as well. Unfortunately, that event was canceled last year due to COVID.

“We’re going to have a little bit of everything for everyone,” said Linda DeVenecia, Ways and Means Chair for the Prattville Spinners Club. “Home distributors, arts and crafts, and food trucks will be set up all throughout the park.”

There will also be a non-traditional Easter egg hunt where children can seek letters throughout the park to help form a phrase.

“We want to make sure that everyone at the event stays safe, and that people aren’t touching the same stuff over and over again. We were prepared to modify activities given the current social climate,” DeVenecia explained.

Fundraising events like this are what the Spinners Club is all about. All money and proceeds go back into the community through scholastic scholarships, veteran affairs and much more.

“It’s been a long time since we had our last event, and we’re so excited to have this opportunity to get back out in the community again. The reception has been great so far, and we have people blowing up our Facebook everyday making sure they have the day and time right for the activities,” DeVenecia said.

Currently the Spinners Club is attempting to bring in inflatables for kids and families. With over 50 vendors present, the event will not have a shortage of things to do.

“It’s such a breath of fresh air to be doing these events in person again. We can’t support the community the way that we want to if we don’t do the fundraising. We’re excited, the community is excited, and it’s just going to be a blast for everyone,” DeVenecia said.

Vendors still have time to apply for a spot for Saturday, and if anyone has questions about the event, contact the Spinners Club on their Facebook page.
