PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Rudy! Good with Dogs and Children, but Not Cats

FROM ARA HORN

PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Rudy was chosen to be our featured pet this week.  He is such a beautiful dog!

Rudy is a 2-year-old male Husky mix who must be neutered before he is adopted.  He came to PAHS as a stray and his owner never came to reclaim him.

Rudy is a handsome boy; his medium length coat is black and white, and gorgeous!  He has one blue eye and one brown eye!  Rudy weighs 62 pounds so he is considered to be a large adult dog.  We believe he will be fine in a home with other dogs and children but NO cats.  Huskies are known to have an even temperament and a love for being outside.  They are also known to be escape artists so a strong and secure fence will be needed for Rudy’s new home.

Huskies are very active dogs and Rudy will need regular exercise.  He would enjoy life best with an active family.  Rudy will require exercise in order to maintain good behavior and only an adopter with the time and energy to fully commit to Rudy should consider adopting him.  Rudy is a great dog with lots of potential to be a great companion dog for an adopter who is going to be patient with him and take up a lot of time with him.

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  Adoptions are by appointment only at this time.  Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.   One day each month we are closed for staff training.  That date will be announced later in the month.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

Finding homes for these great pets is our goal —  your help in showing these pets to the public each week really helps us reach that goal.
