Pilot Club of Prattville Receives Matching Grant from Pilot International Founders Fund

FROM THE PILOT CLUB OF PRATTVILLE

The Pilot Club of Prattville received a matching Grant from Pilot International for a project entitled, Sensory Bags for City of Prattville’s Advance Life Saving Transport Vehicles.  Through this grant, the Pilot Club of Prattville received $1,325 and will match this amount to fund their project to benefit the Prattville Fire Department and constituents with Autism Spectrum Disorder they may encounter.

Pilot International’s mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. To do this we come together in friendship and service, focusing on encouraging brain safety and health, and supporting those who care for others.

Because of this grant, members of the Pilot Club of Prattville will be able to serve their community by providing sensory bags to the ALS Fleet operated by the Prattville Fire Department. The purpose of these sensory bags will be to aid constituents with autism spectrum disorders deal with the stress and anxiety that accompanies emergency and crisis situations.

The Pilot Club of Prattville has members from Autauga and surrounding counties.  The club meets monthly in the lunchroom at New Hope Academy on the second Saturday at 9 a.m.  New Hope Academy is located on Water Street in Prattville.  Brunch is part of the meeting.
