OAHS Thankful for Volunteers at ‘Massive’ Cleanup Project at Old Asbury Cemetery Today

FROM OLD AUTAUGA HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Top Photo: Just one of the huge limbs from a once mighty Oak Tree that was damaged during recent storms.

Several members of OAHS participated today in the cleanup at the OLD ASBURY CEMETERY in Autaugaville. The cleanup effort is being headed up by the Prattville Dragoons SCV Camp. We have several members who are also members of the local SCV, SAR, and DAR chapters.

We thank the following OAHS members, Allen Herrod , John Dennis , Ed McBride , Jennifer Shackelford McBride , Barbara Ware Russell and Larry Caver, for their participation in this massive cleanup project. We also thank OAHS member Beth DeBusk for providing snacks and bottled water.

FYI –

OAHS will meet Thursday, March 4th, at 9 AM at the old Asbury Cemetery, which is located off Pickett Street in Autaugaville, to clean old grave markers. They will be using D2. Members and guests are WELCOME! This could be a great opportunity for you to get involved and perhaps become a member of OAHS! Membership is just $10 a year.

See more photos below. Much thanks to everyone who assisted.
