ANNOUNCEMENT- There will be a work day at Asbury Cemetery at Autaugaville tomorrow, February 27, 2021. As you may know, the old cemetery suffered severe tree damage from the October hurricane.
The local Confederate veterans camp has been working on it, but this is a HUGE PROJECT.
OAHS members, as well as the public at large, are welcome to attend tomorrow and help. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in Autauga County. It includes the Shackelford, Motley, Golson, and many other families.
The work day will start at 8:30 AM. Bring chain saws, snippers, and gloves. We also need bottled water and snacks. The cemetery is located off Pickett Street at Dutch Bend in Autaugaville.
