PAHS Pet of the Week is Harvey

From Ara Horn PAHS

Our featured pet this week is Harvey.

Harvey is a 3-year-old male Black Lab mix who must be neutered before he is adopted.  He came to PAHS as a stray and was never reclaimed by his owner.  Harvey is a very nice looking adult dog.  His coat is shiny black and he has white markings.  Harvey currently weighs 64 pounds so he is a very big guy.  He is extremely active and would need an experienced owner who would spend a lot of time with him trying to curb his energy level.  Harvey would also need a securely fenced yard where he could exercise and play.  We believe he would be good with other dogs but due to his size and energy we would recommend he NOT be adopted to a home with small or young children.  We would also suggest that you bring your dog out for a meet and greet to make sure that Harvey and your dog get along together.  Harvey should NOT be in a home with cats.  He will need a patient owner who will work with him to help him reach his full potential.  Harvey is a great dog and we hope he can find the perfect home soon.

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.   The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  We are open Monday through Saturday with open hours to the public of 11:00am until 2:OOpm.  One day each month we are closed for staff training.  That date will be announced later in the month.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.
