City of Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council Receives Grant for 2021 Celebration of the Arts

From The City of Prattville

The City of Prattville is pleased to announce that the Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council has received a grant of $11,000 from the Alabama State Council on the Arts (ASCA), the state arts agency.

This grant will allow the City of Prattville and the Prattville Arts Council to once again sponsor a Celebration of the Arts in 2021, although this year will look a little different. This Celebration will include virtual activities, such as a virtual look back at our annual Honoree Dinner event, a virtual art exhibition, virtual arts workshops, and the 2021 Wilson Pickett Music and Arts Festival which will be held online this year.

We hope that you will participate in these virtual events. We work hard to make arts experiences accessible to everyone. If you are interested in participating in one of these events as an artist, musician, writer, or other entertainer, please contact Programs Specialist Brittany Glenn at (334) 595-0854, or email samples of your work to brittany.glenn@prattvilleal.gov.

ASCA grants are awarded through a multi-faceted competitive review process. The grant signifies that the City of Prattville and the Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council provides programs of artistic quality, serves the needs of the community and demonstrates high-level administrative standards, as well as enhancing education of students at all levels.

This grant awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts is made possible through funding from an annual appropriation from the Alabama State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. This public support enables us to reach new audiences, foster community development, provide the highest quality programming, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a component for quality of life in Alabama.
