PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Maggie! Greyhound Mix, a Pretty Girl and Sweetheart of a Dog

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Maggie has been selected to be our featured pet this week.  I hope you are enjoying this great fall weather!

Maggie is a 2-and-1/2-year old female Greyhound mix who has been spayed.  She came to PAHS as an owner turn because she will not stay in the fenced yard.  Maggie is a pretty girl whose short coat is brindle with white markings.  She currently weighs 36 pounds so she is considered to be a medium sized dog.  This is a sweetheart of a dog!  She is super affectionate and really just wanted to be loved on and cuddled when we made her pictures.  Maggie is very playful and lively so she would enjoy life best with an active family who would be sure to include her on all their outdoor adventures!  She is already leash trained, house trained, and would love going on nice walks with her new owner.  We believe Maggie would be great in a home with other dogs and children.  We would not recommend she be in a home with cats. Maggie appears to be an intelligent gal; and with her quiet, and gentle character she is sure to make an excellent family dog!  Come check this little darling out soon!

Our adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.   The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm except one day each month when we close for staff development.  That closure day this month will be on Thursday, October 29th.

For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

We really appreciate your help in finding homes for these great pets.

Sincerely,

Ara Horn
