Two Millbrook Churches are joining forces for an outdoor Community Worship Service at the Village Green Oct. 18.

Lake Elam Missionary Baptist Church and Millbrook Presbyterian Church are hosting this event, with the intent of bringing a community together, regardless of their differences. There will be musicians from both churches coming together to offer their talents as well. The groups have been practicing together recently to prepare a great lineup of inspirational music.

Pastors Brannon Bowman with Millbrook Presbyterian, and Gary Jackson with Lake Elam MBC will lead the prayer event, and they encourage residents of the area to come with a joyful spirit and open minds.

“There are several things we are really excited about. We will be able to provide an outdoor worshipping opportunity. Some churches are still not meeting in person. People can socially distance to their heart’s content and worship together. We are exited about meeting with our friends at Lake Elam. These two churches coming together represents a wonderful opportunity. The world can see people of God gathering together to worship and celebrate our Savior. It is an opportunity for folks to hear the word of God and to be reminded that God is not stopped by viruses, or issues that face our country. He is still on the throne. We are really excited about it, and this partnership.”

“This came about after a lot of discussion and planning, and we are excited about this opportunity for two congregations to join together,” Pastor Jackson said. He said that in a time of so much controversy, it is more important than ever for people to come together for a common, positive purpose.

The event is absolutely free, but a love offering will be taken. All funds will be donated to the WELCOME Center Food Pantry of Millbrook.

In a time where so much of the country is divided, this is a wonderful opportunity for area residents to come together with one purpose – To pray for this country and the community.
