EDITOR’S NOTE: Millbrook is now among other cities such as Wetumpka and Prattville who have canceled their annual Candy Walk events for Halloween.
After careful consideration regarding the health and safety of our children, families, vendors, employees, sponsors and friends, the City of Millbrook has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s BooFest at the Village Green, which is sponsored by the Millbrook Parks and Recreation Department.
Due to the overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential health risk to our community, we would not be able to ensure appropriate social distancing with such a large gathering. Unfortunately, under these circumstances, we feel canceling the event is the best way to proceed.
We are disappointed, but plan to resume BooFest next year and look forward to providing a safe, healthy and fun environment for our trick-or-treaters.
