The City of Tallassee Fire Department posted on their Facebook page concerning the passing of Bodine. It reads:

“It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of former DPS Director, Brian Bodine. Chief Bodine was Law Enforcement by trade, but we believe he had a fireman’s heart. Either way you look at it he was a true public servant. He was instrumental in founding the Tallassee Volunteer Firefighters Association and getting our department on the right path during his time as Chief of Department. Chief Bodine always kept up with our progress and communicated regularly with several of our members who knew him. RIP Chief Bodine. The original ‘Car10’.”
